Pay Per Click Money
Your product needs to be set up with a pay-per-click campaign using pay-per-click search engines (ppc).
There are several ppcs.
Google is simply one of the easiest to get set up with. And, it happens to be one that I can talk about with some
personal experience in using their service, so I will stick to what I know best ☺
It's like I have told you so far in this five volume set to find your niche and target it. I tell you to go niche, right? I
told you to get corner a little area in your "niche" that you can tap into, right? I told you to become an "expert" on
your subject. Even if you chose one you had no interest in but you found a need and had someone else write the
book, you still need to become an expert in your own niche!
I tell you to find an area that will either make you money for fun, or one that you are an expert on.
This book is not NICHE. This book has too many areas in which one needs to be an "expert" on.
There are "experts" who sell books on this one subject alone, so, I am not going to pretend or try to trick you into
believing that I am an expert in using pay-per-click search engines. I am not an expert in this area. However, I
have managed successful Google campaigns and have a great grasp of the situation.
I have friends who are doing well with Google, and my own son is doing well with Google with his product. So I
absolutely know that it works!
So, with that in mind, I will tell you what I know about Google:
Google, at this writing, is a $5.00 set up fee. It is very easy to set up an account with Google. It is well known for
being easy to set up! You like easy, right?

Google has also worked itself to the top as far as being a well known and well used search engine.
So, let's talk about what Google can do for you.
When you use a pay-per-click search engine, what you are doing is bidding on clicks. You put an advertisement
up. Then you decide how much you will be willing to pay-per-click (ppc) to your site. I'd start with five cents per
click.
The beauty of this is you are paying for hits for people who are actively searching for your product!
You also have a lot of control. You can set your clicks to allow up to one dollar per day to limit your spending as
you test your ads. Or, you can allow more money per day, depending on your budget. You will be able to see
how many people have visited your site through Google.
And, of course, you'll know how many sales you made. (You must test your ads.) You then can decide if you
want to up the 'ante', so to speak. Yes, marketing is a number's game. You just get educated in that number game,
and get "street smart."
When you test, you eliminate "risk." To keep spending money on ads that are not working is foolish.
When you pay for your hits, you get indexed in Google right away.
You don't have to wait weeks and weeks to get seen on the search engines and wonder if anyone can find you. It
takes knowledge to get good placement in the search engines, and time. So, paying your way for your keywords
and key phrases is the fastest way to get traffic to your site through the use of the search engines!
The beauty of Google is it allows you put in as many phrases as you can, in all kinds of orders. It will tell you what
the click-through rate is.
And how many hits you have gotten for your phrase or keyword. It will warn you if your keyword is simply not
pulling its weight, and that you should change it or do something else with it.

The next important pay-per-click search engine is Overture (now known as "Yahoo! Search Marketing").
Overture (Yahoo! Search Marketing) is a powerful engine and should not be ignored.
They are picky. They are a little more expensive to set up your account, and they can run you higher in fees.
However, it is said by many people that you MUST be part of Overture. (I'm not! For your information, you'll see
that Tom Hua mentioned that he was not running any advertisements on Overture at this time. Basically, he's
been very busy with things the past few months and he just doesn't have the time to keep a sharp eye on his
campaigns. It can sneak up on you fast, if you don't watch your ads.)
I remember my son's face when he was new on the Internet. He ran an ad for a product, checked it. It seemed
pretty quiet, few hits, not many inquiries, and he went about his business. The next thing he knew he had a
$360.00 bill to pay on a campaign that was not making him any money!
He'd ventured into a program with a company that basically didn't get off the ground. They got a lot of people
interested in their product, but the product wasn't working well, so they shut the website down to NOT take any
new orders, and there my son was NOT paying attention and paying per click to send visitors to a site that was
not taking orders (reminds me of a song lyric, "suicide is painless.")
He wasn't paying much attention as he was getting few clicks on his ads at 5 cents each, and you know, as
mentioned before we are hoping for 2 sales out of 100 hits to your site. So, 100 hits is $5, and you check you see
you have had 50 hits, that is $2.50…. and soon you get 200 hits you've spent $10.00 in ads, but nothing really to
worry about (after all, the product had a 30 day trial)
Oh, did I mention the product was not his own?
Anyway, to cut this story short, the subject was "spam" and a couple of years ago people just started getting angry
about spam, and suddenly, my son gets mass hits on a site that will not make him money, because the search term
became BIG and there his ad was up there at the top for all those to care to click on!
He had his settings set at Limit to $6.00 per day. Google sometimes charges you once a month and sometimes I
see that I don't get charged for six weeks. But, by the time my son was paying attention to his credit card
statement, he was out $360.00!
Did he learn an expensive lesson? Yes.
If this book was ready then, do you know what he should have known at that time?
If you are going to do ads in a ppc for other people's products, you need to create a lead-in page. You need to try
to capture the person's email on your own. You need to give them something free relating to what they were
clicking on, and you need to build trust.
You cannot do that, if you are sending them directly to someone else's page!
It is one thing to do a joint venture. You already have your list and the people already trust you. When you send
them a recommendation, you simply send them a recommendation.
But, if you are paying per click, that's an entirely different story.
There is a man who states he does not make a page for selling other people's products and is making a lot of
money. And, I have too. I was making small money on the potty training rabbit campaign. I did not create a lead in
page, I was basically testing it. It was an interesting journey.
The owner of the book was also doing testing. One day his book was selling for around $12.00 the next around
$29.00 and I was sending customers so I never knew if I'd make a 5.00 commission or a $12.00 commission. It
was just a fun game for me. I was winning. But, the money was not worth it to me to continue. I decided it was
wasting my time as far as checking the ads and tweaking them. It was a great learning experience.
For now, until you get the feel of it, I certainly just want you to become an expert at advertising your own product
and stay focused.
Anyway, back to my son. Do you need to learn the same lesson the hard way? NO, no, no. That's why you are
reading this and are going to sock that away in your head so you don't let that happen to you.
KEEP an eye on your pay-per-click campaigns.
Does he understand Google now? Yes, he sure does. He plays Google games with, not only his own product, but
other people's products too.
Why do I refer to it as a game? Because it is! If you think of it as work, or gambling or boring etc, then it either
feels risky, or it feels like work.
There is a chance that, if you spend $5.00 and set yourself up for $2.00 per day, that you will get NO sales at
first. There is! However, you will watch your campaign like a mother hen sits on her eggs, and you will start testing
and tweaking your site until you have a site that sells!
You've created your product. If people are clicking on your ads, then you have a market. If 500 people click and
you have made no sales, you best be changing either your sales page, or your ad.
Get some friends to look at your page. Become a member of marketing clubs where people will give you their
opinion.
Make sure your AD is targeting the right market. If you are targeting freebie seekers and not serious buyers, you
really should not be spending money on those ads. Google Ads has a Negative word control area, where you can
make a word or a phrase not be used and the freebie seeker will not see your ad!
The third point; after 500 hits and no sales is to make sure your email works where people contact you and that
your sales link actually works. I've known a couple of people who did their ppc ad campaign and, after several
hundred hits, a complaint came in stating that the order link did not work. That's Awful!
One very important thing you must do when you open a Google account (and do not forget this!) is Content!
Content!
Google sets you up for people who actively search for your product.
That's wonderful. When a person searches, it means he is actively searching for your product, or a solution to a
problem that your information product will solve.
Google added a new feature to their lists of things they can do for you and it is called CONTENT. Content goes
with their Google adsense program. This program allows anyone with a site that is getting hits, to put a Google
adsense ad on their site, and people make money doing this.
Here's the scenario:
A person starts a forum. The subject is pretty good. In fact, word spreads around and the site is getting hits, the
forum is active. Many free members join. The owner of the forum is happy. Then he adds adsense ads to his
forum.
He joined Adsense with Google. He's putting some code on his forum where, IF his visitors click, he can make
some money. It might be worth 3 cents a click to 20 cents, or even higher, per click. But, each time a new forum
member clicks on that Google adsense ad, the pennies come rolling in.
There is nothing wrong with it. EXCEPT…. if you are paying for targeted hits that are actively seeking for your
product, you just may not want to pay for CASUAL curiosity hits?
You see my son gets paid every time someone clicks on an ad, on his forum. Maybe not much. It all depends on
what your subject is. But, still, that Google adsense gets put on the busy forum and people click on the ads. These
are visitors who are not actively searching for anything you have to sell. They are simply in a forum where they see
an ad because Google matches ads to content that their robot reads on your site.
You'll see this all over the Internet, nowadays. Ads by Google Adsense.
So, I strongly suggest that when you set up your Google ad campaign, that you edit your campaign settings once
you create a campaign and UNCHECK the box that says CONTENT. It's
easy to do.
Once you have set you account with Google, read their rules. You cannot have any pop ups on your sites, or exit
pages. (These are pages that, when you leave a site, create another page to pop up. This is a no-no with Google.)
When you create your campaign, be sure to edit your campaign and get rid of the content box.
Now, because you are selling your own product and capturing their email and going to turn them into a loyal and
repeat customer, you will need to know how that computes into value for you.
What are Your Adsense Visitor and Customer Worth?
You need to decide what your visitor and customer is worth ☺
The value of your visitors and customers is not just measured in dollars/pounds. The value of your customer is not
JUST I had 100 hits at 10 cents a hit. I paid $10.00 to make a sale to a $17.00 product.

However, there is more than what meets the eye!
You have potentially made more than the above calculations.
So, let's think about the following formula:
Visitor Value (new people) and Lifetime Customer Value (existing
customers.)
Here's the basic formula for getting those numbers
1. Visitor Value = Average Income / Number of unique visitors
Example: $1000 divided by 10,000 unique visitors will give you a Visitor Value of 0.1... or $0.10 per visitor
To calculate your advertising costs would be (example) as follows...
If it costs you $30 to get 1000 exposures of, say, a banner ad, @ 1% click-thru rate, that would mean you're
paying about $3 per visitor.
2. Lifetime 'Customer' Value is a little tricky. I would start with one year first and then extend it over time as far as
I need.
Example: If a customer spends $500 per year, then his 5 year value would be 5 x 500, and so on. To break it
down further...
If he buys 10 times per year at $50 profit per purchase, he's worth $500 per year.
But that is not all to compute into your customer's value.
If he loves your product, he will tell others! It can spread fast.
Plan you campaign. Make sure your site is set up properly in the first place, and test!
